Se7en deadly Navy SEALs bound to secrecy about a party that ended in tragedy.

Six months my innocent brother Joaquín has spent in jail for a murder.

Five hours a day I’ve trained to go undercover to learn the truth.

Four plastic surgeries to transform into a pinup to gain access to their world.

Three shots of tequila I down before I take off my clothes to dance for the SEALs.

Two years since I’d left my soul mate Grant, the only man who can help me now.

One dead stripper found strangled and drugged.

Zero room for error. I’m Joaquín’s only hope for freedom. No sin is too depraved, no challenge is too great. Even if it means destroying my soul.

Review

This is the first book in a series of novellas. It’s military romantic suspense, a personal fave of mine. It’s about Mia, who has to turn to her ex to help her try to clear her brother, who is in jail for murder. Her brother, Joaquin, is a SEAL team mate of her ex, Grant.

Grant has been ordered not to talk about the events and night of the murder. He certainly has no desire to help Mia with anything, despite his desire to clear his friend’s name. Mia is a bit of a pistol and after being refused help by Grant or the rest of her brother’s team, she is forced to take very drastic measures on her own.

I read this book and immediately started the second one. Great characters, great suspense and sex. I love this author’s work. This novella is linked to her Trident Code series.

Emily McCarthy is living in fear of a dark and dangerous past. A gifted mathematician, she is little more than a hollow, broken shell, trying desperately to make ends meet long enough to finish her degree.

Through an unlikely friendship with the aging, cantankerous owner of an old boxing gym, Em is thrown into the path of the most dangerous man that she has ever met.

Cormac “the Hurricane” O’Connell is cut, tattooed and dangerous. He is a lethal weapon with no safety and everyone is waiting for the mis-fire. He’s never been knocked out before, but when he meet Em he falls, HARD. Unlike any other girl he’s ever met, she doesn’t want anything from him, but just being around her makes him want to be a better person.

They are polar opposites who were never meant to find each other, but some things are just worth the fight.

Review

I had read a lot of amazing reviews about this book. It started off amazingly. I really liked it but by the end, it was good but not great.

What I did like:

The heroine was great. A little quirky but awesome.

Danny, the cranky gym owner. He owned me from his first mention in this story.

The camaraderie between the fighters.

The humor. I laughed a lot.

I loved that Con (the hero) fell for Emily (the heroine) immediately.

What I didn’t like:

Con became a bit of a beta male for me by the end of the book.

This series, at least for now, seems to focus on Con and Emily and no one else. I don’t mind that in a novella series but not in a full length book series. Still, I enjoyed it but I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series yet.

How to Make Amazon’s Erotica Titles Searchable Again

Hello Snitches! If you follow any erotica and romance authors, you may have heard them talking about Amazon’s latest attempt at filtering adult content by putting some romance titles under the erotica category and/or putting erotica in the romance category. Amazon is all sorts of screwed up right now. By Amazon putting anything under the erotica category, it automatically blocks anyone searching for a title, in that category, unsearchable. Unless you have a direct link, or the adult filter disabled, then you will not find anything under erotica. I follow Selena Kitt and she has been a powerful voice in this. Please read her “Pornocalypse 2015 is Upon Us!” blog post.

I understand the need for an “adult filter“. We dont want these titles being read by kiddos. Or some adults who don’t care to read it and that is okay. Read what you want. But what about those of us who do want to read things labeled #erotica and #eroticaromance. I love erotica, smut, taboo, strange and unusual and all things kinky fuckery.

I enjoy reading all different kinds of genres and if I’m unable to find something on Amazon, I’ll move to another website who does sell it, like Smashwords. I do love Smashwords. Besides Amazon, Smashwords is where I do buy a lot of my books. (Smashwords also has an adult filter, but it’s clearly labeled and easy to find.)

Okay… I’ll get to my point. You can disable the adult filter on Amazon and its really simple. Here’s how…. 🙂

Directions on disabling the “ADULT FILTER” on Amazon

1. Login to your Amazon account.

2. On the search drop down menu, select “Kindle Store”.

Your search bar should now say “Kindle Store” instead ofAll“.

3. Search for a book you know has been adult filtered. For example “Glory Hole by Matt Shaw”. (p.s… I read this book and its AWESOME… buy it HERE)

4. You should now see the message “Your search contains adult items which have been hidden. If you wish to see them, click here.”

5. Click on click here” on the Amazon site and you should now see the title you were searching for.

You are now able to search adult content on Amazon. 🙂

HOWEVER… please keep in mind that if you delete your cookies, you will need to do this all over again. But now you know how to do this and it wont be a problem to do it again.

Thank you for checking out this post and I hope this help in your Naughty Book Searches.

***This novel is intended for adults(18+) for mature and explicit sexual content. It is a standalone and the series does not have to be read in order.***

Sorcha
Some men just can’t accept that a woman can be perfectly content without them. I mean, come on—a girl can get laid whenever she wants. It’s not like it’s hard. And Lord knows, I have no interest in a relationship. There is no room for that drama-filled nonsense in my life. Pursuing my passion is all I have time for. Selfish and shortsighted? Perhaps. However, I know what I want and I have no problem going after it. Life is a string of decisions, constructed and manifested by each person. I own mine, and I don’t apologize for it either.

Gavin
My past always seems to define me. I hadn’t ever considered love as an option for someone with the background and proclivities that I have. Not until I spot a sexy little brunette across the crowded room. It’s magnetic, and as much as she tries to resist, I am going to have her. Even though she won’t submit, her sass does something to me—changes me. Come hell or high water, she will be mine.

Review

What a fantastic book and a breath of fresh BDSM air. Sorcha and Gavin are both head strong, smart, independent and single. I might even say alpha meets alpha. Neither one are looking for a relationship but they do sort of stumble into one and it all starts with a chance meeting at a BDSM club called the Velvet Rope. Sorcha is sassy and Gavin is immediately taken by her strong will and mouth. And it only gets better from here.

description

I would categorize this as a romance with light BDSM. I think the reason for that is because, although very sexually independent and active, Sorcha has limited knowledge and really no experience with the BDSM lifestyle. So we get to learn and grow with her as we read. She’s tough, smart, thinks for herself and will do things in her own time, when she is comfortable doing them. She isn’t going to roll over and let anyone tell her what to do unless she wants them to. So it takes just a while to dip her toes into it and even then it’s very light.

“Sex this good comes with a price. A price tied with emotions and inevitable commitment. Or devastating heartache.”

description

Sorcha has a work friend who talks about the BDSM lifestyle and finally talks her into going to a club. He gives her some technical terminology and information that is very important before going to a club. Although educational, I feel the author did a good job at blending the information with the story. That way you get good and accurate information without all the text book jargon. I thought the fit and flow of the information was very nice and it gives the reader a chance to actually learn some real facts about the lifestyle. On the flip side, if you already have a good understanding of the lifestyle this may drag on a bit for you. BUT don’t be discouraged. Like I said, I think it’s done well and fits into the story just fine.

description

Scrupulous captivated me from the beginning and didn’t want to put the book down. Sorcha is a character I don’t typically see in these types of books and I absolutely loved her. Im putting her in my favorite heroine category. I especially loved it when she first meets Gavin. I thought the exchange between them two was hilarious.

For example, Sorcha is at the club getting turned on by all he kinky fuckery that is going on around her. Then this guy walks up (Gavin) and is blocking her view. Since the filter on her mouth is broken, she immediately gets into a verbal back and forth with Gavin.

“Can I help you?” I don’t take kindly to having my space invaded without my permission, let alone my lady boner being blocked.

“That is not the proper way to speak to a Dom, girl.”
“I wasn’t aware that I was speaking with one”

There is WAY more to that scene and its fantastic as it continues, but I don’t want to give it all away. You’ll just have to read it for yourself.

On to the sex. Sorcha and Gavin’s first sex scene… just… wow! Make you want to throw the book down and find someone or something to hump. HOT DAMN!

“Fuck inner goddess, he’s yanked my inner slut out, lavishing her beyond her wildest dreams and she’ll be damned if she goes back into the closet quietly.”

description

I didn’t rate the heat level very high on this because although there are some tasty and detailed sex scenes, I felt like some of them were just glossed over. They are written really well and I think the amount of sex scenes fit the size of the book. It was also a little refreshing to actually focus on the story a little bit rather than just the sex.

Gotta love some drama. Sorcha has trust issues and Gavin is still getting used to the idea of being in a relationship, so some things just… slip his mind sometimes.

description

The constant back and forth between these two is the best. Them trying to making the other jealous, the ghost pepper, the word wars, battle of wits and so much more.

I did get confused by the alternate names everyone uses at work. Sometimes it was hard to follow. I also felt that closer to the end the constant back and forth between Sorcha and Gavin was a little too much. For example, I’m waiting for their relationship to go to the next level and maybe get into some BDSM stuff, but then a trust issue takes place and then we have to start all over again. I get it, and if I had a trust issue, it would set me back a step too. Maybe the trust issues could have all been at once to move the story along better? I don’t know and don’t have a good answer for that. The spots in between the issues is what seemed to drag for me. Some of the things that were happening in the “in between” sections didn’t mean anything to me and didn’t seem to add to the story. I could be wrong, but those were the feelings that I had while reading some of those parts. I also think the phone number issue went on a little longer than it should have. I get that both of these people weren’t looking for a commitment, but at some point when you were talking about sleeping together more than once, wouldn’t you at least get a number?

Overall, Scrupulous was a good read and I’m looking forward to reading the next book. I thought the writing style and the flow of the story were really good and kept my interest. This book has humor, great sex, a kickass heroine, entertaining supporting characters and a good story to back it all up. I would recommend this to people who love romance with a little bit of kick and who are interested in learning more about the BDSM lifestyle.

What inspired you to write your first Novel? “My girlfriends and I were sitting around discussing our latest reads, all the perfect Cinderella type romance novels that are out there and how we would like to read something that more could relate to. I have been an avid reader since I was a child and love to write, so I decided to write something for us. A not so perfect love story; one that had a little humor, tied in some vampires, a little adult content, morally hard choices and was a satisfying read for all those hard working readers who want some good ole’ junk food for the brain when they come home after a long day at work.”

Raised in California she moved to Colorado to pursue her education and fell in love with the area as well as her now husband. After pushing through college class by class with a few maternity breaks in between, she graduated. Her four year degree took a bit longer to complete as life led her down a scenic route.

Though Kristina loved her art and literature classes in college she put that to the side in order to start her career in nursing. After establishing her career she felt something was missing. While she adores being a nurse she felt her artistic side was calling and started to pick up her writing and painting again, setting aside a few hours a day on her day’s off. After a period of time she found that her short story had grown into her first novel. Writing is a passion of hers and she feels the greatest achievement in her art is creating works that bring enjoyment to others.

She continues to reside in Colorado with her husband and children. Kristina is working on the next installment of the Lunar Eclipse Series.

Review

I’m just…blown away.

This is the final full length novel in the series that has had me enraptured. It’s everything you could want in an MC romance. Seriously, you get it all here. I was not looking forward to this one at all. I never connected with Digger as a character and what you did know was that he was a douche. Since Kathryn Kelly is my favorite author, I knew I’d read it. I love everything she writes. I got way more than I expected from this book.

Marcus “Digger” Banks is a man on the run from his MC. He knows he’s on borrowed time. You don’t betray Christopher “Outlaw” Caldwell and live to tell about it. Don’t hate Digger right away because all is not what it seems with him. His betrayal is subjective. We all do what we have to do to protect those we love. Even dancing with the Devil. Digger’s dad is the biggest piece of shit. He’s a murder, a rapist, a human trafficker, an apparent drug lord and wait for it…a religious zealot. He has his own church believe it or not. He raised his sons horrifically. Mental and physical abuse were the status quo. Digger disappeared from his MC to protect his brother, Lucas or Mortician. He loves his big brother.

Bunny is a former stripper and old lady of one of the Death Dweller MC members. Her old man was a real shit. Abusive and dangerous. When he meets his well deserved end, Bunny is kidnapped by Digger and forced to go on the run with him. She knows about Digger and his betrayal. Despite her finding him attractive, he scares her to death. As they run from Digger’s dad and Christopher Caldwell, Bunny realizes that Digger isn’t the man she’s heard about. There’s more to him than that.

This book truly blew me away. I felt like a pinball in a pinball machine. Back and forth. Shitty situation to shitty situation. Suspense overload. A great deal of sadness too. Best of this author’s work, hands down. She even made me like Christopher a small bit and I hate Christopher! He was still a douche but not quite as bad as normal. Now, I have to address this because I’m one of the 5 people who read the series that love Kendall. I know she’s a hot ass mess and she’s at the top of her game of hot mess in this book. I found myself shaking my head at her a lot. I know she battles depression and this story gives you a little more look at what that does to her. Honestly, I would be depressed if I was married to ball-less Johnnie too.

For fans of this series, you will love this installment but be saddened as the series comes to an end. I will miss the stories, the characters, the suspense, the filthy mouths and the hot sex scenes. Most of all, I will miss my precious friend writing about the boys of the Death Dweller MC and the women that brought them to their knees. If you haven’t read it and love MC romance, you MUST read this series. You won’t be one bit sorry.

For centuries, prophets and soothsayers have whispered tales of the Light Bringer: a savior from the distant past destined to bring an end to a catastrophic intergalactic war. And now, as the known universe faces the threat of despotism and ruin, this messianic figure emerges from the shadow of long-forgotten fables to bring an end to this unpardonable strife.

Captain Cydd Yoshiba, the notorious space pirate and scourge of the Shadow Vox Empire, has dedicated his life to tracking the Light Bringer down—and now he has finally found her. Along with the small crew manning his interstellar battleship, Yoshiba travels back in time to rescue the woman rumored to be this fated messiah: Joan of Arc.

Propelled from medieval Europe to the far-flung year of 2977, the famed “Maid of Orleans” naturally has trouble acclimating to her strange new surroundings—but that’s the least of her worries. As her attachment to Cydd Yoshiba grows and intensifies, so too do her first unbidden inklings of sexual desire. It’s not long before she is forced to choose between keeping her eternal vows of chastity or indulging in these forbidden erotic fantasies. Will she choose duty over love? How long can she resist these newly awakened desires?

Review

Oh my.

How do I describe this book? I was hooked from the first page, first paragraph, the description of the ship our heroes are in. Let me quote:

The ship had seen better days. Drained of torpedoes. Severely battle-damaged on its right flank. A warp drive on the fritz. Communications temporarily down. Even the plumbing wouldn’t work. Limping through the cosmos like a three-legged dog at the Iditarod. A giant mechanized dick sagging limply in the half-spent, jizz-soaked afterglow of another rough fuck.

I was hooked. Not only was I hooked, I was hypnotized by this book. It combined all the best of the space operas I love, the wry humor of Robert Asprin, the fourth wall humor of Supernatural… it’s just this bizarre and wonderful mishmash of everything awesome and geeky. It’s got humor. It’s got action. It’s got sexy times. It’s got everything! I’m really excited over this book!

Ahem.

The story itself is wonderfully cheesy. Space Captain Cydd Yoshiba is on a mission to bring the Light Bringer from her time period to the present, to prevent some horrible horribleness from happening across the galaxy. But what about the sexy times? Or, as Ensign Deadmeat puts it:

“Jesus Christ on a cracker,” Deadmeat muttered. “Do we really need all this set-up, guys? Come on! When do we get to the fucking?”

Sadly, there are only a couple of fucking scenes in this book, but they are masterfully done. If there had been more, the heat level would have definitely been higher. I just… I have to keep quoting this book!

“Hush, captain,” Lala cooed, tugging at those pesky buttons with her free hand. “This is my job. I am, after all, a licensed nymphotherapist. And besides,” she winked at him, “you know I come from a planet of craven cumsluts.”

It’s a great set up! And somehow, this book manages to encapsulate everything I love about pulp adventure and space operas. There are a couple of things which should be mentioned though. One, there are some anachronisms when Joan joins the crew, but in the spirit of pulp adventure, you can easily ignore that. There are some POV switches, but they are not done obnoxiously. The third is that this book is NOT going to be for everyone. It’s heavy on plot, setting, and characterization and semi-light on the sexy times. It’s wordy and verbose, and can be a bit dense to get through at times. Let me find an example (all the quotes FOREVER!):

The woman’s shadow stretched unnaturally across the floor, twisting and swirling into phantasmagoric shapes against every available source of light. She seemed to grow taller and more menacing as the shadows converged and coagulated until the entire tenement was plunged in darkness.

A little wordy, loquacious, over-descriptive and fucking awesome! I mean… it may be a little bit too much for some people? But this style speaks directly to the geek love in my heart. Not only that, but in writing smut, I’ve found sometimes… it’s really hard to get aroused BY smut anymore. I see the same words over and over again, and they’re just words… written so many times they lose almost all meaning. Here, it was very different. The words! Oh my gosh, the words! It was as if the author reached into the myriad passages of my twisted mind and plucked from the bosom of my brain erotical passages that delighted me, and filled my head with childlike smutty wonder at the elegant complexity of the arousing narrative.

In other words, lots of big words made Alana hot. In very weird ways. Kinda like this:

The last thing, of course, is the most glaring: the cover is not great. By not great… I mean bad. Its hard to read the title, and the cover model–while pretty!–doesn’t scream erotica. Honestly, I think the author could really write the heck out of some science fiction, but might have run into the same problems I did with my horror: no sales. Thus, erotica. However, writing good erotica and being able to market good erotica are two completely different skill sets. I want to lend the author my illustrator, but I think Jotham would have an apoplexy if I sent him more work.

I love this book in many, unholy ways. The sex is fucking hot. The story is fucking fantastic. So don’t judge the book by the cover… the cover is bad, but the insides are oh, so delicious.

I absolutely guarantee it’s not for everyone (mostly because of the extreme nerdy wordiness), but I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. Ten out of ten nymphotherapist cumsluts.

This is the first novel in the Bohemia Beach series, each a steamy standalone romance set among a circle of young artists in the enchanting Florida city they call home.

Review

I’ve said that romance isn’t my preferred genre, and this is true. However, it does not mean I haven’t read romance. I’ve read probably over a thousand romances. When I was growing up, all we did was read. I would run out of books, and pick up my mom’s… which were all romances. So, like the opera, even though it isn’t a preferred genre, I’ve grown to appreciate a good romance over the years.

This is an OK romance. It hits all the beats, and it’s written well. The writer is actually quite gifted, and I can tell she really loves ceramics. And blowjobs. But then, who doesn’t like a good blowjob?

The story is pretty much as it is in the summary, Sloane moves to Bohemia Beach to go to an art school, and meets reluctant rich man blocked writer Alex. He’s handsome, rich, charming, witty, and… maybe a serial killer? I don’t know… it just seems to me that every psychological thriller book starts out exactly the same as a romance novel. I might be reading too many horror books lately.

At any rate, Sloane is smitten! She and Alex begin a whirlwind affair… and that’s pretty much it. There’s no obstacles to the relationship which aren’t solved quickly, misunderstandings are talked about more or less swiftly, and there’s where my adoration of the book runs out. It’s all too… pleasant? There is a part where I thought there might have been a love triangle… but no. There was a part where Sloane was put into danger… but she was first “saved”, and then saved herself. It just… it was a pleasant, light read. This isn’t bad! It’s just lacking that little extra something that would make the book stand out.

The sex was decent, and there was a lot of it. I was actually rather envious at how often there was sex. At one point Sloane asks if Alex is going to have sex with her on every piece of furniture he owns, and his reply? “I hope so, I have a lot of furniture.” If only my husband and I could go at that pace!

It was a solid, light read with some fun sexy times. Nothing heavy, nothing surprising, but nothing that made it stand out either. I give it a respectable seven Deep One ceramics out of ten.

Liberty Lafayette was used to transformation. After remodeling herself for years she felt she finally had the ideal disguise, the perfect armor to stay safe.
That all changed when she encountered him.

Calix Xavier is a man used to getting and having his way. He’d been the protective Daddy type as long as he could remember. As a lifestyle Master and Daddy Dominant he could have his pick of any submissive he chose to be kneeling at his feet.

He was compelled to choose her.

She was the toughest nut of the bunch—with the sweetest spirit and he could see all she hid.

She’d have to choose to show him, submit to him of her own free will.

How long could she run, carrying the armor encased wings on her heart? How long could she hide the broken pieces and twisted halo?

How much pain could they both endure before she surrendered to—becoming—something completely new?

Experience the journey of Liberty as she learns the depths of submission and what it can truly mean to be a slave.

Life may have forced her to her knees but could she be inspired to them by Calix’s love?

Review

Awww Yeeahh! Loved it! Get ready for the gushing 🙂

description

I was captivated from the beginning. I felt connected to Liberty and was invested in her journey to becoming the slave she wanted to be and finding the Daddy she needed. At times, I felt that some of the things she was questioning or her actions were plucked from my own head. This would be a really good read for people who know a little bit about the lifestyle and are curious about how one would act and react in situations or maybe even where to start if they wanted to? I don’t want to call it a self help or guide, but I’ve never read anything like this before and I think it would appeal to a very large group of people.

Im definitely not very good describing how I feel so I will do my best to express what exactly I’m talking about. Liberty already knew what kind of person she was looking for. A Dom/Daddy. She knows she is submissive and wanted to be a slave. Me, who is more vanilla than not, is sort of like Liberty (not really, but kind of). And if I wasn’t married to my very own unicorn, (and maybe a bit younger), I feel like I would be on the same journey as she. I know I wouldn’t want to be a slave but I know Im a little submissive. Well… anyway. This is not about me 😀

To me this is a coming of age type story where Liberty is able to transition out of her shell and into the slave she wants to be. Of course with the help of Calix. Oh holy shit fuckin fire, Calix!

description

Calix is my unicorn with a small chip in his horn. My most favorite thing about Calix can be summed up in this one quote….

“Calix hadn’t considered that his advances were part of the problem. He figured women love to be pursued. He thought it would make her feel wanted. He was so used to women just falling at his feet or trying to get fixed up with him by all sort of devious plots and he didn’t know how to do this.”

This shows me he’s human. He has his faults and he doesn’t know everything and wont always make the right decisions. But he will make the best decisions that he can given the circumstances.

Sex:
The sex was sooooo good. It was perfect pacing and I really like that Liberty didn’t give it up right away. Since it took them so long to hook up, I really loved the masturbation and fantasy scenes that we get to build us up and not leave us hanging. They were amazing and I loved every fucking one of them. I would love to have each of those on video…. 😉 Now that would be a business I’d like to get into. I’ll turn all my favorite books into really good porn movies. LOL… anyway. The naughty school girl and the one with Calix and Nick. *sigh* Loved them both! Im pretty sure that my panties melted off my fucking body!!! Then when Liberty and Calix do meet for coffee… I get a kiss that makes my legs feel like jello. Or more accurately…. “Wow, you almost made me faint.” Then Calix… oh my GAWD, said… “I thought all I wanted was to meet you and give you just one kiss…. Now, I know, that will never be enough.”. That’s it!!!! My vagina needed to be resuscitated.

Okay, so when I got to the part where Liberty finally took the steps to meet Calix… oh my word. I almost cried. She showed him all the spots that weren’t perfect and he wrote approved. Then… then I read this…

“Finally, she raised her right hand and pointed to the spot on her chest, where below her heart beat like a thorough bred after running laps at the Preakness. Then she pointed to her head before quietly saying. “I’m broken.”

That’s it. I had to look away before a tear fell out of my damn face. Of course what happened after that was really hot and sweet and erotic and everything I wanted it to be and then some. I feel like Im just gushing about the sex… well, I am. 🙂 I loved all of it. Especially the part when they fought and he opened the hotel curtains, pulled her hair then fucked her over the couch. JEZZUS! I want to do that!!

Okay, I have to stop talking about that or I will never get through this review. LOL!

Overall, I just loved it. I think there is a little bit of Liberty in everyone and that is what makes her such a relatable and likable character.

The story pacing is really good and kept me intrigued the entire time. I do wish there was a little bit more creepy stalker guy to make it slightly more suspenseful. I know that the story isn’t about the stalker but a little suspense does a lot of good, for me anyway. This authors writing style is the kind that sticks with you. When I finish one of her books, I love it, but then I cant stop thinking about it, and then I just love it more and more because I cant stop thinking about all the awesome things that happened. Im savoring each moment and hoping it will last forever. Like I said, Im not very good at expressing myself so I hope this all made since. I guess if I put it short and sweet… I’m on a diet and this book is the cheesecake that I can’t stop thinking about. 😀

About The Author

BB Blaque button I write beautifully flawed characters who ultimately find, perfection is not a prerequisite. Our flaws are what make us unique and some flaws compliment each other better than others.

I love BDSM (Male dominant/female submissive.) There’s something that just feels so right about a man wearing the pants (especially when he wears them well and fills them nicely.) I am interested in the psychological aspects of relationships in general and especially when there is a power-exchange dynamic.

My world would stopping revolving if not for heavy rock music (and the wonderfully talented people who make it.) Music and its makers will definitely be strongly visible in my work. I listen, I remember…I listen, I’m inspired…to write…to love…to f**k…to live.

As the captain of the Chicago Aces, Marc Dupuis is all business. The apartment he shares with his teammate and best friend, Duncan, is a refuge from the pressures of fame. But when the sexiest woman he’s ever seen interrupts his early morning coffee wearing only a skimpy cami and matching panties, Marc can’t exactly say he minds. Their chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately, this girl’s no random puck bunny. She’s Duncan’s little sister—and she’s moving in.

Lovey Armstrong could stare at Marc’s chiseled abs and listen to his French-Canadian accent all day. She just has no idea what’s going on inside his head: When he’s not charming her pants off, Marc makes a Zamboni machine seem warm and cuddly. Lovey knows the team’s bro code says no messing with sisters, but all these mixed messages are hard on a girl’s self-esteem—especially since she’s finally getting her new life together in Chicago. She decides he’s worth another shot . . . because if anyone can melt the ice around Marc’s heart, it’s Lovey.

Review

I had never read Kelly Jamieson before and I love hockey romances, so I was super excited to read this new series.

Marc Dupuis is the captain of the Chicago Aces. Since his broken engagement, he’s been rooming with his teammate and best friend, Duncan. When Duncan’s sister arrives unexpectedly, Marc is blown away. She’s somewhat of a free spirit. She’s also beautiful, sexy and really nice. He also likes the fact that she bosses Duncan around.

Lovey is a little lost but slowly finding out what she wants to do with her life. She moved to Chicago kind of on a whim but she’s getting it together. She’s happy to be spending time with her brother and drooling over his hot as hell best friend, As she and Marc play cat and mouse with their attraction to each other, they realize they have to decide if each of them are ready to have more than just sex.

I liked this story. The characters were, fun, funny and endearing. Good sex and an HEA. I’m a fan.

Abby has been through hell and has survived one of the most brutal childhoods imaginable… barely.

To the outside world she is just a loner with an attitude.

When her grandmother dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left with questions-and nothing else.

Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own.

Two broken souls that can’t be healed. They can’t be saved.

Abby & Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another, but within themselves.

If they can accept each other for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn’t always found in the light.

Review

Abby has lived a straight up, shitty life. She was raised by her drug addicted, abusive parents and foster care before finally landing with her grandma. She was still gossiped about but her life had purpose and stability. She finds out that her Nan died at her high school graduation. She’s several months from eighteen and refuses to go into foster care again.

Jake’s four years older than Abby and his life has been hell. His father holds him responsible for the deaths of his brother and mother. The opening scene with Jake and his father was absolutely chilling. It gave me stomach cramps. I knew at that moment that I was hooked.

When these two people meet, you start a love story between a contract killer and a girl who had nothing but her inner strength. I’ll warn you though, this isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s hardcore and dark. I didn’t love Jake for most of the book. There were times that I wanted to punch him in the throat. Abby had me from the start, I loved her. Another great read by the wonderful author.
