Life is supposedly what you make of it, but that’s crap as far as 3D artist, Becks Delgado is concerned. She never wanted her brother to die in a car accident… or to be the one who was behind the wheel. Her external scars are nothing compared to the raw wounds inside, and there are times when death seems to be the only way to find peace.

Sebastian Payne took the concept of a tattoo parlor and transformed it into a sophisticated gallery of living art. House Of Payne now caters to the rich and infamous, has garnered a worldwide following and is run by Payne with an iron fist. He knows Becks is exactly what House Of Payne needs, but there’s a problem. The accident that changed her life left its mark on him as well, and whether he likes it or not, it’s time for Payne to put his House in order.

Rebecca “Becs” Delgado is a very talented artist. Not famous yet but that could be about to change. Her works were just used by the House of Payne. The House of Payne is a tattoo shop. A very upscale and famous tattoo shop. This pisses Becs off to no end because she never wanted a particular piece to be used for the public. So, she goes to see the owner of the shop, Payne, to tell him that she knows he stole it from her somehow and she’s going to make him quit advertising it.

Payne has made his business the success that it is by hard work and only doing the best in tattoo design. He has had his eye on Becs for quite a while now and knows she’s very talented. When she storms into his business, he explains that the business she sold her things to was a subsidiary business of his. Therefore, her stuff is now his stuff. You can imagine the stink that this causes.

Becs and Payne have chemistry that Payne wants to explore further but Becs acts like she wants nothing to do with Payne because of what he is, a man whore. She also wanted one of her pieces to be hers only. Probably should’ve thought of that before you sold your rights to it, just sayin’. Despite her animosity towards him, the two embark on a sexual relationship. Becs only wants sex but Payne wants so much more. See, Payne has a link to her brother’s death that has left her scarred inside and out.

I tried so hard to like this book but I just didn’t. The chemistry sexually was good but beyond that I couldn’t connect to the couple. He was supposed to be a man whore but I never truly saw that. He seemed kind of a beta male to me. I hate beta males in my books, so this one fell flat for me.
