Beck Ockley is ruthless in the boardroom…and the bedroom. He’s never been with the same woman twice, and vows he never will. With a past as twisted as his, meaningless sex keeps the demons at bay. His motto: One and done. No harm, no foul.

Harlow Glass is the most hated girl in town. The beautiful artist is penniless, jobless and homeless. When she sneaks into Beck’s home—her ancestral estate—for food, she’s shocked by his early return…and her immediate, sizzling and intense attraction to him.

For the first time in Beck’s life, he can’t get a woman out of his mind. All too soon, friendship blooms into obsession and he’ll have to break her heart…or surrender his own.

Review

I enjoyed this installment so much more than the first one and I really liked the first one. I couldn’t wait for the former hateful girl and the man whore to fall in love. It was everything I thought it could be.

I loved Harlow so much. No, I don’t approve of some of the things she did as a young adult. They were pretty terrible. For me, she was a heroine you wanted to cheer for. To say that she paid for her crimes is an understatement. She lost everything, she was homeless, starving, a social pariah. Through all of this, she made strides to be a better person.

Now, Beck. He’s such an adorable little man whore. He liked Harlow from the beginning. Even when she was a trespassing pie thief. This man’s appetite on all levels delighted me. His demons were difficult to face and there were times that I wanted to kick him in the throat. In the end, he fell, just like he should’ve.

Another hit for Showalter. Hot sex and belly laughing humor make this series one of my new favorites.
