Review

Kenna Starr has a horrible reputation. A reputation that she feels she had a part in but seriously, not all of it is her fault. She’s a gorgeous, sweet, red-headed freckled face woman. She takes the criticism and scorn of the town citizens better than I would’ve. It was her mom that was a tramp, not Kenna. Kenna had a daughter as a young teen and won’t reveal the father’s name. This according to the town means either she doesn’t know who the father is or he was a married man.

Dane Michealson is back in his hometown to celebrate his father’s engagement to Kenna’s mother. The same woman Dane’s father left his mother for. The affair between these two went on for years and Dane resents the hell out of both his father and his soon to be step mom. When he sees Kenna at the party, he feels guilty because he treated her badly when they were young. He’s also floored by how beautiful she is now.

What started out as an uncomfortable seeing one another again gathering sets the pace for this novella length story about finding exactly what you’re looking for where you’d least expect It. I’m a huge Gena Showalter Lords of the Underworld fan and I read her book Catch a Mate years ago. I loved that book! I was excited to see a contemporary series by her and this certainly didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to see what she has planned for this series.
Attractive woman reading a book
