Unable to convince her husband they are ready to become parents, Erika decides to buy a puppy. She heads into rural Missouri on a day trip, following up on a lead in the classifieds, and gets more than she bargained for.

After the death of her mother, Bobbie Jean finds herself living with her aunt and uncle in the backwoods of Missouri.
But her relatives have a dark secret.
The family business.

Authors recommended reading order: FAMILY BUSINESS, LUCIFER’S CHILDREN, LUCIFER’S WHORE (just a side story, can be read before or after LIVE BAIT), FAMILY BUSINESS: LIVE BAIT.

Right off the bat I would like to give a warning to readers. If you’re looking for something safe, familiar or a happy ending, then this book probably isn’t for you. If you have triggers with extreme violence, torture, rape, animal neglect, dog fighting and one (not graphic but it was intentional) baby death, then you should approach with caution. You have been warned. On the flip side, if you have an open mind, a strong stomach and love a twisted tale that will immediately pull you in, give you hope and then crush your dreams, you should totally give this book a try. You will not regret it.

This is the first time I’ve read Bret Williams and most definitely not the last. When I found out he was a local author, I had to stalk him and his books to see what they were all about. I really enjoy reading books that are set in or around my area. Family Business didn’t specifically say where this was located, just in the “backwoods of Missouri” and that sounds like it could be the deepest and darkest part of the Ozark area, or at least that is what I imagined.

The story starts innocently enough, with Erika planning on surprising her husband, Stephen, with a new puppy. While driving to a breeder in the rural backwoods Missouri, Erika has some internal warning alarms going off but ignores them because she really wants a puppy. While trying to decide on just the right pup to bring home, Erika is met with a surprise herself and things take a very dark and disturbing turn.

Meet the hillbillies who are running the family business. We have Levi, business owner and father of Jake and Bub. Bobbie Jean, Levi’s niece, has lived with them since her mother passed away. Have you seen Deliverance? Or The Hills Have Eyes? Well, here you go.

Bobbie Jean

The only part that kind of got on my nerves was an early section with a ton of rape. Yes, it’s necessary for the story progression but let’s move on, I get it. For a minute, it really felt like the story wasn’t progressing but it eventually did. Another thing that shocked me (actually there was a ton of things that shocked me) was the ending and how abruptly it ended. It feels like a cliffhanger, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like it’s not really a cliffhanger. Are there questions I need answered, yes and hopefully I’ll get those answered in the other books.

Since I bought the audio version of this book, I need to comment on Joe Hempel’s performance. Wow! He has a smooth and hypnotizing voice. He does character voices effortlessly and I could easily distinguish who was talking by the accent he used. He seemed to really enjoy what he was reading.

Overall, this book is dark, twisted, brutal, uncompromising and disturbing. Family Business made me cringe, laugh and cry. Fantastic writing, world building and character development. I would recommend this book to horror fans, but please do read the warning and read at your own risk. I gave this 5 stars because the overall story and the audio narrator were so amazing. Bravo!

OH! P.s… Stephen… you are a motherfucker! I hope karma catches up to your ass. Bitch!

P.S.S. If you want to know what happens to the baby then read this part. This is a true spoiler alert. Do not read this if you don’t want to know what happens. (These women are being bread like dogs and there is one part where a newborn baby is shot. The baby is killed because he was born deformed and for revenge. The death is not detailed and it does not dwell on it, but it is in there.)

Beware: One part dirty instalove, one part captive-woman BDSM dark romance, one part horror. White Trash is not traditional romance. It includes graphic, scary and sexual material some readers may find disturbing.
White Trash is a short read—if you want a longer book, go get one. 🙂
Down in the hollow, Callum devours women’s dirty books. Now he’s ready to take the billionaire’s daughter who needs him to be her alpha. Sy just doesn’t know what’s good for her. Yet.

Sy Thompson’s supposed to be too good for me.

She’s new in town, lives in a mansion up the hill with her frowning parents. I can’t stop watching her. The curvy beauty’s full, lickable body puts my neck out. She’s everything I’m not supposed to have: wealth, polished beauty, purity.

In one night under me, she’ll find out she loves getting dirty. One night, and she’ll know I’m more than enough for her.
She’s going to beg me, and I’m not going to stop until she’s mine.

Callum looked dangerous-hot, like he might be wanted for something, something real bad.

He scared me from the minute I caught him staring at me. His pale eyes show his dirty, dirty thoughts. Thick muscles writhe when he loads his big truck.
His tattoos make me want to explore his off-limits body.

He’s the kind of man my mother warns me about, a bad man. I know about bad boys. He’s worse.
A man like Callum Blake, he won’t take no for an answer.

If you’re prone to getting freaked out by graphic sex, dirty words, scary scenes, horror, crime fiction, or dark romance, don’t read this book. If you’re easily offended or triggered, don’t even think about reading White Trash. I mean it. This book is way outside the comfort zone for most readers.
Readers like me who find thrills in the dark: This is for you.

Are you kidding me??!! I loved this! I downloaded this just because of the warning 😀 and it was free at the time I downloaded it. It has an awesome cover and catchy title! I must also mention that there really isn’t any billionaires” in this. I mean, Sy is rich, but that is certainly not the focus. I’m really glad for that because I am totally sick of anything related to billionaires right now.

I loved this short story. It was almost everything the warning promised me. I know the author said White Trash is a short read—if you want a longer book, go get one. 🙂 but this was so fantastic, that I really hope Viv Phoenix might expand on this story later. I mean, Callum has brothers. *wink *wink

Speaking of the warning, it does say that this is one part BDSM… well, in my opinion that isn’t entirely true. Maybe an introductory level BDSM and on the very light side. Callum does his homework on Sy so he can make her his. Sy happens to read books that have alpha males and are BDSM themed. So, there is some Master/slave talk in here and one very short spanking/punishment scene. Another part of the warning says one part horror. Again, in my opinion, I wouldn’t consider this horror. Dark? Probably yes or maybe a charcoal gray? This seems to be more of a suspense or thriller. Now, with having said all that, this… White Trash is not traditional romance. It includes graphic, scary and sexual material some readers may find disturbing. is absolutely true and readers should be cautioned.

I gave this 4.5 stars. Why? Callum. I wish he wasn’t so simple minded. It seems that he was raised in a “House of 1000 Corpses” kind of way and extremely hillbilly. Which is good for the story and I get having some hillbillyish ways, but I wish he didn’t seem so slow. He is pretty creepy though.

“Only thing that could make Sy Thompson prettier would be a big load of my sperm across her pink cheeks. I’d been making tributes on her pictures, so I knew that for sure. Girl looked her best covered in her master’s baby batter.”

Callum also has a monster cock. It’s so big that he needs to be careful when he gets hard or he can risk passing out from blood loss to his head. This absolutely cracks me the fuck up every time its referenced. I have seen some monster cock porn and I’m sure he could split Sy in half.

“I made myself do multiplication tables to keep from getting a complete boner. Being big, I got woozy when I got hard.”

Sy Thompson? She is pretty much a TSTL character. Or is she? She is walking around town in those daisy duke shorts, adoring the looks she is getting and she knows who Callum is. Did she plan this? Is she really the mastermind behind this?

Overall, this is a short and fantastic read! Before you pick this up, read the warning the author gives and see if this is something for you. I would love to read more about Callum and Sy and maybe the rest of the Blake clan. This book is listed at $2.99. I wouldn’t pay that much for a short story that is less than 50 pages. I would for sure pay $.99 for it or you can get it on Kindle Unlimited. This is the first time I’ve read this author and I will for sure be reading her again.

Oh… my…. goodness! This was an intense book! There are a bunch of parts that were so fucked up, I thought I was going to vomit. Actually, this entire book is fucked up. But in a good, sick, twisted, emotionally raw, scary and heart pounding way. It will for sure get your adrenaline pumping! This book will stay with me for a very long time.

“Only a monster would do something like that. I looked at him as he shocked her wound and knew I was right. Only a monster would do something like that. And his name was Ron.”

“I’d be sure I was prepared to reap before I started sowing, if I were you, Nicole.”

If you pick up this book, just know that there are potential triggers for people. Rape, torture, necrophilia, murder, plenty of mind fucks and there is a some pregnancy torture. I’ll tell you something… I learned some life lessons in this book.

I must also check out a book that is referenced… Annie’s Revenge. Also… this author is from the Ozarks. This is only 3 hours away from me. I actually go there every summer and my uncle has a cabin there.

They say there are defining points in your life – moments where you f**ked it all up, moments that make you its bitch, moments that shape you into the person you are.
The day I met Braxton Ward was one of my moments.
My name’s Melissa Hart, and I don’t think you’re ready for this story.

I go by a few names: Hella, Brax, 112, or, depending on whether I’ve been balls deep in you or not, C*nt. I don’t push the boundaries because in order to do so, one must have them. I’ve never had them. Being homeless at the not-so-tender age of fifteen morphed me into an emotionless shell, and when The Army recruited me, that shell turned into steel.
They say if fire is hot enough, it can melt steel; the hate that burns between Melissa Hart and me just might be hot enough.
Shit doesn’t come easy for us. Enemies are expanded, secrets are revealed, and lives will be taken. Yeah, I’m Braxton “Hella” Ward, and you bet your f*cking ass that you ain’t ready for this story

Hella. What a messed up man! He was dark. Maybe the darkest guy that I’ve ever read about. You knew he was dark in the first book of the series but WOW! You truly get to see the level of darkness that lives in his soul in this book. It was cringe worthy.

This story is about the intense attraction between Hella and Melissa. It’s not an easy road to witness. Hella is a stubborn asshole. His treatment of Melissa is less than chivalrous. At times, it’s just plain cruel and selfish.

Melissa has her own demons to fight. A shattering tragedy in her teenage years has shaped her in to the woman she now is. She’s smart, caring and a hot ass mess. Her humor made me laugh a lot. She handles Hella very well.

I liked this book better than the first in the series. Be warned though, there is graphic violence and possibly triggers for some readers.

WARNING!!! This story contains non-consensual sex, violence, abuse, mutilation, snuff and cannibalism. Read it at your own risk. I’m not responsible for your dinner finding its way back 🙂 WARNING!!!

Thank you Jessica for the recommendation. I really enjoyed this sick and twisted tale. To be completely honest, this wasn’t as dark as I was expecting. HOWEVER, this was really dark and extremely fucked up. Going into this short story I was pretty nervous and didn’t know what to expect.

Danny, is living with his Uncle because his mother passed away and his dad has been dead for a number of years. His Uncle is very comforting and supportive. Danny is enrolled in school and doing well. A few months go by and there is this one door in the house that is never opened, the basement door. Danny asked his Uncle about it and was always told, curiosity killed the cat. Well, that made Danny even more curious about what was behind the door. Do you know what happened next? While his Uncle was at work, Danny finds his way into the basement and what he finds there is not at all what he expected.

From this point on my heart was pretty much beating out of my chest. You know that feeling when you’re a kid and you’re doing something that you know you’re not supposed to be doing. Then someone walks in and bust you… ya. That feeling.

This is where the fucked up shit happens. Oh my word! Humiliation, mutilation, mindfuckery, abuse and sexual violence. Let me tell you about the “snuff”. Yes, there is a section in here where a film is shown and described in detail. This short story is not for the faint of heart. The author gives a great and very true warning.

Then… that ending. I expected death and destruction and I got something completely different.

I did have some issues with this though. This was banned because Danny is a minor and there is a couple brief moments of cringe worthy incest. Because Danny didn’t put up a fight at all, it seemed that he was trying to justify everything that was going on by saying that he fears his Uncle. I’m not really sure about that. But on the flip side, if I had walked into what Danny did, maybe I would be shocked and scared too. Also, I think this story was translated to English because there are a lot of grammar errors.

Overall, I enjoyed it. It is totally fucked up and will probably give me a bad dream or two.

WINNER: Best Transsexual Erotica of 2015 (Bending the Bookshelf)

Alexa and Isabelle have an annual tradition that has continued since the early days of their friendship: an all-night slumber party filled with junk food, box wine, and bad horror movies. Even as adults, the two continue their slumber parties with pride… but now things have become a little more complicated. Alexa, a trans girl with a love for high fashion and eighties slasher movies, harbors a long-unrequited crush on Isabelle, a cis girl. She doesn’t want to say anything or act on those impulses. They’ve been friends for a long time. The last thing Alexa wants to do is wreck their friendship. But she’s having a hard time keeping this a secret.

But that’s not all. Somehow, Alexa and Isabelle have summoned an ancient succubi—a sexually insatiable phallogyne—to their party. She comes to them looking for erotic pleasure… and quite possibly takes more from them than either could imagine.

Alexa and Isabella are brought to her as sacrificial lambs… but will leave dumbstruck, sexually fulfilled, and changed forever. They will experience pleasures beyond the limits of human imagination… and ecstasy that can only come to those who are already damned!

This 16,000+ word novelette contains adult material that may not be suitable for all audiences, including scenes of a TS/TS/F liaison. It contains explicit depictions of sexual acts. All characters are at least 18 years of age, and this story is intended only for mature audiences.

Oh my.

I love Sakura’s writing. I LOVE IT. The way she writes her books glues me to the page, eagerly swiping to the next page. In her “real life”, she’s an English teacher and it shows. The word choices she uses are fantastic, evoking images and feelings which the regular erotic book wouldn’t. It’s… awesome, as in it fills me with awe at her ability to write.

So, what’s this book about? Two friends, Alexa (a transgender woman) and Isabelle (her best friend) are having their traditional Halloween slumber party to watch bad horror movies and giggle. Two things about this is that first, you can really feel the connection the two of them have. When Alexa “came out”, Isabelle was there for her. It’s not just touching in a friendship way, but also in a sexual current way, which is the second thing I want to mention. Even though NOTHING happens in this first scene, Sakura paints such a great picture that you can just feel the current between the two.

The transgender aspect is handled beautifully, and sensitively. It’s not “Oh my god, that girl has a cock!” Alexa is simply portrayed as a transwoman who hasn’t had the operation yet. She has her own feelings, backgrounds, insecurities, strengths… she’s a whole person in other words. Transgender erotica is not my kink, but the stuff I have read has all been exploitative. It is not here, and it’s such a welcome breeze of fresh air.

When the succubus arrives and transports them to another place, the tone changes very quickly. The fear is very real, but so too is the arousal. Alexa wants all that’s being offered, but is afraid to take it. She knows it’s wrong, but it doesn’t feel wrong. These contradictory emotions are portrayed very well, and if Sakura should ever write a horror novel, I have a feeling I’d need to read it in the daytime with the lights on… and I love horror.

Why not the full five stars? Two reasons, and these mostly come down to unanswered questions. First, why did the succubus want Alexa so bad? Never explained. Second, how did Isabelle come under the succubus’ spell? Not explained well. Or if it was, I was simply too entranced by the pretty words. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem… but I have a feeling this is a one shot, and not a series. If it was a series, it would be a PERFECT set up for the next book. There’s some teases, some questions to be answered, the beginning of mystical sexy mayhem… but I don’t think there’s a sequel coming. If there is? I will change my rating to reflect that, absolutely!

As it stands, I give it 9 of 10 giant futa demon cocks. Oh, didn’t I mention the demoness was a futa? She is! Which just adds to the delightfulness of this trans book, showing us multiple versions thereof!

(PS: I’m sorry no entertaining gifs today! I have been really late in reviewing this book, and I want to make sure I got it done rather than spending another week trying to choose images! More amusement next time. Promise!)

I’m just…blown away.

This is the final full length novel in the series that has had me enraptured. It’s everything you could want in an MC romance. Seriously, you get it all here. I was not looking forward to this one at all. I never connected with Digger as a character and what you did know was that he was a douche. Since Kathryn Kelly is my favorite author, I knew I’d read it. I love everything she writes. I got way more than I expected from this book.

Marcus “Digger” Banks is a man on the run from his MC. He knows he’s on borrowed time. You don’t betray Christopher “Outlaw” Caldwell and live to tell about it. Don’t hate Digger right away because all is not what it seems with him. His betrayal is subjective. We all do what we have to do to protect those we love. Even dancing with the Devil. Digger’s dad is the biggest piece of shit. He’s a murder, a rapist, a human trafficker, an apparent drug lord and wait for it…a religious zealot. He has his own church believe it or not. He raised his sons horrifically. Mental and physical abuse were the status quo. Digger disappeared from his MC to protect his brother, Lucas or Mortician. He loves his big brother.

Bunny is a former stripper and old lady of one of the Death Dweller MC members. Her old man was a real shit. Abusive and dangerous. When he meets his well deserved end, Bunny is kidnapped by Digger and forced to go on the run with him. She knows about Digger and his betrayal. Despite her finding him attractive, he scares her to death. As they run from Digger’s dad and Christopher Caldwell, Bunny realizes that Digger isn’t the man she’s heard about. There’s more to him than that.

This book truly blew me away. I felt like a pinball in a pinball machine. Back and forth. Shitty situation to shitty situation. Suspense overload. A great deal of sadness too. Best of this author’s work, hands down. She even made me like Christopher a small bit and I hate Christopher! He was still a douche but not quite as bad as normal. Now, I have to address this because I’m one of the 5 people who read the series that love Kendall. I know she’s a hot ass mess and she’s at the top of her game of hot mess in this book. I found myself shaking my head at her a lot. I know she battles depression and this story gives you a little more look at what that does to her. Honestly, I would be depressed if I was married to ball-less Johnnie too.

For fans of this series, you will love this installment but be saddened as the series comes to an end. I will miss the stories, the characters, the suspense, the filthy mouths and the hot sex scenes. Most of all, I will miss my precious friend writing about the boys of the Death Dweller MC and the women that brought them to their knees. If you haven’t read it and love MC romance, you MUST read this series. You won’t be one bit sorry.

Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that rival her own.

Two broken souls that can’t be healed. They can’t be saved.

Abby & Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another, but within themselves.

If they can accept each other for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn’t always found in the light.

Abby has lived a straight up, shitty life. She was raised by her drug addicted, abusive parents and foster care before finally landing with her grandma. She was still gossiped about but her life had purpose and stability. She finds out that her Nan died at her high school graduation. She’s several months from eighteen and refuses to go into foster care again.

Jake’s four years older than Abby and his life has been hell. His father holds him responsible for the deaths of his brother and mother. The opening scene with Jake and his father was absolutely chilling. It gave me stomach cramps. I knew at that moment that I was hooked.

When these two people meet, you start a love story between a contract killer and a girl who had nothing but her inner strength. I’ll warn you though, this isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s hardcore and dark. I didn’t love Jake for most of the book. There were times that I wanted to punch him in the throat. Abby had me from the start, I loved her. Another great read by the wonderful author.

I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don’t know if I’m strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He’s already saved me in more ways than one. Now it’s my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else…

Tyrant is the conclusion of the King and Doe love story. It starts right where King ended. King’s being hauled away by the police and Doe is being hauled away by her father and her baby daddy. Doe’s confused, angry and scared. She has so much on her plate in this story. Her lack of memory, King’s betrayal, Preppy’s death and a son she doesn’t remember. King has to deal with his betrayal of Doe, the bad men after him and the death of his best friend. How will these two people find their way back to each other? Are they even supposed to?

This was a tad slow in a couple of places but I still loved it. The love story, Doe’s previous life, the suspense and sweet lord, the plot twists, they just kept coming! The emotional battery that you experience is as frustrating as it is amazing. I cringed, cried, laughed and gasped. T.M. Frazier has gained a fan for life in me. I’ll read anything she writes. Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.

Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.

King is a man. He’s big, rough, crass, scarred inside and out and a criminal. A legit criminal. He’s a murderer, a drug dealer and his sex life borders on shit I certainly would not take part in. Strangling and shit. Pain more than I’m comfortable with. You know it has to be because of his horror movie of a childhood. He has two friends, Preppy and Bear. They are his family. They’ve stood by him through everything. Preppy and he opened their own illegal business and they were profitable. Then King went to jail for the murder of his mother.

This story starts with his release from prison and his welcome home party. Here is where Doe comes in. She’s with her hooker friend and they decide to go to the biker party. Doe is not a hooker, she’s an amnesiac. She’s been wandering the streets for a while now. At the party, she meets King and her girlie parts start to tingle. Her friend steals money from King, shoots Doe and escapes through the window. King keeps Doe as payment for the money that was stolen.

That gives you the start to the book. I’m telling you read it! It’s a fantastic read. It’s a little dark, a little sad, a lot hot and a ton engaging. It has been on my TBR for a long time and I’m so glad I finally read it. I can’t say enough good things about it. It does end with a tragic event and cliffhanger but so worth the read and the sequel, Tyrant is already out! What are you waiting for? Go, get the book!
