Review ~ The Brothels of Brimstone #2
Review ~ The Devil and Delilah #1

In the Weird, Wild West…

Delilah’s quest for vengeance is forestalled as she seeks weapons potent enough to confront her enemies… and secrets of the occult world of which she is now a part. In Mexico, she meets with a mexican witch, called a bruja, to gain what she requires… but the bruja’s help comes with a price. Recruited to stage a jailbreak, Delilah’s quest, and world, get larger as she travels through southern Mexico seeking a lost civilization to help a god ascend to his power.

This is a dark fantasy, weird west erotic novella. It contains violence and sexual situations and is meant for mature audiences only and is 33,000+ words.

Satan’s balls, this is a damn good series and so far, The Bruja and the Beast is my favorite. I got the perfect mix of story, sex and adventure with a little bit of teasing about things to come! A lot of things were revealed in this one, but only enough to let you know that there is a lot more adventure waiting for us. Honestly… I’m considering pulling a Misery move on Alana Melos and making her finish this serious out as soon as possible.

Delilah is still trying to track gang of supernatural men that killed her family. She is also determined to learn more about herself and understand her powers and limitations. Delilah is now traveling with Cèlia to Cèlia’s grandmothers, Marguerite (bruja or witch) house in hopes of learning how to kill these supernatural gang she is tracking. So, Marguerite can actually help Delilah but she needs her to do something for her first. She must free Nicolás from jail and bring him back to her, unharmed. Ready to move forward with Delilah’s own goals, she agrees.

“Changing a point of view is the first lesson of the spirits and the start of learning to bend the world to your will. You see the world as you wish it, then use your will to make the change.”

Once Nicolás is free, he has his own agenda for Delilah which turn out to be really enlightening, especially when he brings his friend Rose, along. That’s all I’m going to say about that. I don’t want to give away any of the juicy details. And, no… that is not a innuendo for sex. It’s actually plot details that is moving this story in amazing and epic ways.

Azazel makes a few appearances and he is still a horny and sexy devil. I’m still uncertain about what kind of game he is playing. He is a shady fucker and I don’t trust him. Actually, I don’t trust anybody! Everyone has their own shit and seem to be in it for their own gain.

There is some sexy time in this book, but Delilah is “trying” to control her succubus urges. It’s perfectly done. Sometimes giving into those urges and sometimes holding back or finding alternative ways to control it. But when she does give into those urges, you’ll want to make sure you’re in a cool area because your ereader is in danger of melting and your panties will burst into flames.

Overall, I loved it. I’m not sure you could tell from the review, but I did. I can’t wait until the next book comes out. This book is big on adventure and it just makes me all giddy. It could almost be one of those pick your own adventure books. Flaming Satan’s balls, that would be fucking epic! My only complaint is that I’m learning that I’m not really a fan of the female/female action. This isn’t only f/f, but there are a couple f/f scenes. Maybe if there was some penis mixed in with the f/f I would like it more. I am a huge fan of cock. Bring on the penis party! Anyway, I would recommend this to fans of weird west and fantasy genres.

WINNER: Best Transsexual Erotica of 2015 (Bending the Bookshelf)

Alexa and Isabelle have an annual tradition that has continued since the early days of their friendship: an all-night slumber party filled with junk food, box wine, and bad horror movies. Even as adults, the two continue their slumber parties with pride… but now things have become a little more complicated. Alexa, a trans girl with a love for high fashion and eighties slasher movies, harbors a long-unrequited crush on Isabelle, a cis girl. She doesn’t want to say anything or act on those impulses. They’ve been friends for a long time. The last thing Alexa wants to do is wreck their friendship. But she’s having a hard time keeping this a secret.

But that’s not all. Somehow, Alexa and Isabelle have summoned an ancient succubi—a sexually insatiable phallogyne—to their party. She comes to them looking for erotic pleasure… and quite possibly takes more from them than either could imagine.

Alexa and Isabella are brought to her as sacrificial lambs… but will leave dumbstruck, sexually fulfilled, and changed forever. They will experience pleasures beyond the limits of human imagination… and ecstasy that can only come to those who are already damned!

This 16,000+ word novelette contains adult material that may not be suitable for all audiences, including scenes of a TS/TS/F liaison. It contains explicit depictions of sexual acts. All characters are at least 18 years of age, and this story is intended only for mature audiences.

Oh my.

I love Sakura’s writing. I LOVE IT. The way she writes her books glues me to the page, eagerly swiping to the next page. In her “real life”, she’s an English teacher and it shows. The word choices she uses are fantastic, evoking images and feelings which the regular erotic book wouldn’t. It’s… awesome, as in it fills me with awe at her ability to write.

So, what’s this book about? Two friends, Alexa (a transgender woman) and Isabelle (her best friend) are having their traditional Halloween slumber party to watch bad horror movies and giggle. Two things about this is that first, you can really feel the connection the two of them have. When Alexa “came out”, Isabelle was there for her. It’s not just touching in a friendship way, but also in a sexual current way, which is the second thing I want to mention. Even though NOTHING happens in this first scene, Sakura paints such a great picture that you can just feel the current between the two.

The transgender aspect is handled beautifully, and sensitively. It’s not “Oh my god, that girl has a cock!” Alexa is simply portrayed as a transwoman who hasn’t had the operation yet. She has her own feelings, backgrounds, insecurities, strengths… she’s a whole person in other words. Transgender erotica is not my kink, but the stuff I have read has all been exploitative. It is not here, and it’s such a welcome breeze of fresh air.

When the succubus arrives and transports them to another place, the tone changes very quickly. The fear is very real, but so too is the arousal. Alexa wants all that’s being offered, but is afraid to take it. She knows it’s wrong, but it doesn’t feel wrong. These contradictory emotions are portrayed very well, and if Sakura should ever write a horror novel, I have a feeling I’d need to read it in the daytime with the lights on… and I love horror.

Why not the full five stars? Two reasons, and these mostly come down to unanswered questions. First, why did the succubus want Alexa so bad? Never explained. Second, how did Isabelle come under the succubus’ spell? Not explained well. Or if it was, I was simply too entranced by the pretty words. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem… but I have a feeling this is a one shot, and not a series. If it was a series, it would be a PERFECT set up for the next book. There’s some teases, some questions to be answered, the beginning of mystical sexy mayhem… but I don’t think there’s a sequel coming. If there is? I will change my rating to reflect that, absolutely!

As it stands, I give it 9 of 10 giant futa demon cocks. Oh, didn’t I mention the demoness was a futa? She is! Which just adds to the delightfulness of this trans book, showing us multiple versions thereof!

(PS: I’m sorry no entertaining gifs today! I have been really late in reviewing this book, and I want to make sure I got it done rather than spending another week trying to choose images! More amusement next time. Promise!)

The Shifter Inside Has Caused Him Unimaginable Pain

Jonathan has tried to deny his panther side. He’s completely isolated himself inside of his billionaire company, and intentionally has no friends. Because his family was taken from him.

Beth is a beautiful, happy, curvy woman that’s had her share of normal dating mishaps. But falling for a panther shifter might take her dating history to a new level of potential disaster.

They are brought together through an act of violence that staggers them both. She needs him, and he needs to save her. That one moment begins a series of events that pushes them both to the brink.

Can a reclusive billionaire accept his fierce desire to protect this lovely woman from harm, even if protecting her means accepting his life as a shifter? And if he does, will she be able to accept every part of him?

This is a 15,000+ word novella. It is a STANDALONE with NO CLIFFHANGER.

*This book was originally published in April 2015 under a pen name, Terra Wolf. It has now been re-published with the real author name, Amanda Jones. The book has not changed.

Mmmm! I do love shifter romance. This was a fantastic start to what I imagine will be a great series. The beginning of this book was my favorite. I was hooked from the very first sentence.

“I smelled her fear before I heard her scream.”

Jonathan King is a loner billionaire who is trying to repress his panther side. However, his panther needs to run and the two sides of Jonathan have come to an understanding by letting his panther out at night.

Beth Winters is a music teacher whose had a series of bad dates. Just when she’s given up on the dating scene, one walk home changes her fate.

“It’s funny how life sometimes has a way of leading you down the path you really need without you even noticing it beforehand.”

When Jonathan and Beth meet for the first time, they are both irresistibly drawn to each other. After their first meeting, Jonathan can’t stay away from Beth.

“My dick was pushing in my pants now and I was having an internal dialogue with my panther, trying to get him to back down.”

Well, I can’t really say too much more without giving anything away. I do need to comment on a scene between Jonathan and Beth that was so hot and that was when Jonathan was helping Beth with her clothes. It was seriously hot, but then… I had to giggle a little because there was a line in there that made me laugh, but I don’t think it was meant to. Of course I knew what was meant by it, but it just struck me a little funny.

“I couldn’t look at her pussy or I would combust and all of my good intentions would fly away. She stepped out of them and the smell of her sex hit me like a punch to the gut.”

The only part of this book that I didn’t care for was that it felt rushed towards the end. It started out with a bang and then quickly ended. The story was fine, just rushed.

Overall it was a really good read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal shifter romance. The sex is really good and Jonathan and Beth are great together. Since this is an insta-love story, I would like to read more about Jonathan and Beth’s relationship. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Two brothers bound by more than blood fight to change a brutal destiny in the heart-wrenching new novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood by #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward.

Trez “Latimer” doesn’t really exist. And not just because the identity was created so that a Shadow could function in the underbelly of the human world. Sold by his parents to the Queen of the S’Hsibe as a child, Trez escaped the Territory and has been a pimp and an enforcer in Caldwell, NY for years- all the while on the run from a destiny of sexual servitude. He’s never had anyone he could totally rely on… except for his brother, iAm.

iAm’s sole goal has always been to keep his brother from self-destructing- and he knows he’s failed. It’s not until the Chosen Serena enters Trez’s life that the male begins to turn things around… but by then it’s too late. The pledge to mate the Queen’s daughter comes due and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no negotiating.

Trapped between his heart and a fate he never volunteered for, Trez must decide whether to endanger himself and others- or forever leave behind the female he’s in love with. But then an unimaginable tragedy strikes and changes everything. Staring out over an emotional abyss, Trez must find a reason to go on or risk losing himself and his soul forever. And iAm, in the name of brotherly love, is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice.

Be forewarned: there are spoilers below.

I read a lot of reviews before I started this book. I was shocked at the negative reviews, threats that people were done with the series and that Ward had broken their trust with this novel. To say I apprehensive to read it was an understatement. After finishing it, I see how people could feel the ways I mentioned above. Personal opinion is something everyone is entitled to and important in book reviewing. For me, this book wasn’t that bad.

Easy, people! Let me explain my views by breaking down the multiple storylines going on in the series.

Trez and Selena:
What a beautiful but tragic love story. I loved Selena and while I like the rest of the Shellans, I don’t love any of them but Beth, Mary and now Selena. I may understand the being upset over Selena’s death but we as readers saw this coming from a mile away. I knew this a went into the story willingly. I’m not sorry I did either. It was wonderful and touching to watch these two characters fall in love even knowing the end result.

Iam and the princess:
I’m okay with their story. It didn’t get a whole lot of page time but that was fine with me. He deserved an HEA also, especially after cleaning up after Trez for centuries.

Xcor and Layla:
What a hot ass mess! Xcor was a douche through most of the book. He needs to accept that Layla is the one for him and quit pushing her away. Nut up! He has put her in a terrible position. She feels horrible about her deceit of the Brotherhood.

Rhage and Mary:                                                                      I’m assuming that because the next book is theirs, that was reason for the amount of page time they got in this book. I love Rhage and Mary. Theirs is my favorite book in the series and I want them to get a baby. From what I read here, I can see that happening. Fingers crossed.

Spinoff series:                                                                         I’m very interested and can’t wait. The prospect of seeing more of the brothers appeals to me greatly.

I have three HUGE complaints with the book. First and foremost, I’m pissed that Selena died. Ward does seem to pick and choose which Shellans get to live or die. That is her right as the author but it sucks. Next, I felt cheated that I didn’t get to read about the reactions of Trez’s group. Trez, Iam, Rhev and Xhex. they were a family long before their adoption by the Brotherhood or mated into it. Thirdly, where the hell is Murdher?

So in closing, I enjoyed several aspects of this story. I’m fully invested in this series. If people don’t want to read anymore, okay, then don’t read. For me, it was a good read and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Review ~ The Claiming of Eve by Bella Swann

Genre: monster erotica, MMF, FF

Heat level: 4 out of 4 flames

This is a very dark, erotic interpretation of the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and their Paradise Lost. It begins with Adam and Eve in a state of innocence. Through a series of increasingly lustful BDSM encounters with paranormal creatures such as Raphael, Lilith, Lucifer, and Michael, Eve falls into sin and takes her loving husband with her. Warning: This is a work of fiction that contains sexually explicit materials meant for those over the age of 18 and contains elements of dubious consent, dominant male, submissive female, and ménages.

Bella continues to push the boundaries with her newest release, The Claiming of Eve. Set in the Garden of Eden, this book paints it in a new light, nothing like what you had envisioned it to be. The arc of the story is so irreverent, I don’t even know how to review it properly.

First, I would like to mention WHY I decided to read The Claiming of Eve. I saw a tweet that had a one-liner from the book:

Eve shuddered as she felt his cock hit the golden apple that was still deep inside her and push it up against her very core.

My immediate reaction was, good god, I simply have to read this book.

As per her usual routine, Bella throws you into the midst of things right away. First, Eve is so horny that she is masturbating, and this was such a hot scene, I almost wanted to take notes. I mean the woman knows how to use both of her hands, very well. Then we get to see Eve being roughly (please be forewarned – VERY roughly) dominated by her husband (Adam) and an angel.

Her overstimulated flesh was almost beyond its breaking point.

After reading this scene, I’d have to say that’s an underestimation. By the way, in case you didn’t know how Eve came into existence, it’s through being fucked by Adam. What a reasonable version of her first minutes on earth!

He had pushed his hard cock back and forth deep inside her virgin pussy as she waited helplessly to cum into existence.

Once the two men are done with her, they just discard her, as she is only there for their pleasure, and nothing else. Poor Eve, feeling neglected, wanders off and runs into Lilith, who turns out to be Adam’s first wife (what?!?). The women have a very hot scene in the middle of the book, so hot that I was wishing a Lilith-type person had walked across my path, just so she could ravage me like she did Eve. After that, there is another scorching scene involving monster sex, so you’ve been forewarned (once again). Poor Eve gets taken by a serpent Lucifer, who uses all of his snake-related appendages to work her over. Very very rough dubcon. Just sayin’.

It seems as if pain is the key necessary to controlling your pussy, Eve.

There are seven apples involved, one of which is stuffed up Eve in a tweet that drew me to this book in the first place. Also, if food play is not your thing, this is your warning (jeez, how many warnings am I going to have here?).

The final scene was highly erotic. In an unexpected twist, Bella makes Adam bisexual, and there is a very rough (once again) threesome involving another angel, whose task is to send Adam and Eve away from Paradise. Before he does that, he takes rough advantage of both sinners. Oh dear god. So, this is the final forewarning: if MM is not your thing, walk right by this. But if I were you, I would still read this, just to marvel at Bella’s audacity. There are also some orgasm withdrawal elements here that will make you squirm. Oh, and rough toy play. And since they didn’t have sex toys back then, Bella used her unstoppable imagination: the hilt of a sword, shoved up … that’s right, you guessed it. Also, umm, double anal. Good god. Is there any boundary that Bella will not push?

I cannot say enough about this book. Bella’s usual style, as always, transported me. It’s almost like a chanting style, where you just want to keep reading, it’s hard to explain. The descriptions of rough play were so vivid that I caught myself holding my breath more than once. But maybe that’s Bella’s intention – to heighten your arousal by slightly suffocating you. Worked well for me. Holy hell. I’m afraid I’m getting so addicted to Bella that I might stop reading anyone else.

Don’t fight the pain, sweet Eve. Your pleasure will be all the more intense once you submit.

This is a darkly erotic story of the Claiming of Sabrina, a curious and submissive adult mermaid who ventures too closely to the Kingdom of Man and is taken prisoner. She encounters many alpha males all too willing to take control of her sweet little body and force her to submit to waves of unending sexual pleasure intertwined at times with pain. This is a work of fiction meant for those over the age of consent and contains elements of dubious consent, dominant male, submissive female, medical play, and paranormal encounters.

I cannot get me enough of Bella Swann’s magical stories. I’ve read several of them so far, and she hasn’t stopped to amaze me. So when I got a request to review this one, I knew I was going to have a good time. I had a nice dinner, couple of glasses of wine, then I settled in my favorite chair, while my partner did the dishes (I hate doing dishes, it stifles my creativity).

The Claiming of Sabrina is the most audacious book by Bella I’ve read thus far. Within the first page or so, I was thrown in, head first (and underwater, obviously), into this scorching sex scene between the mermaid and her two buddies. Who just happen to be dolphins. Holy mother fuck! (Mindy, we’re allowed to swear on this blog, right?)

My eyes kept getting bigger and bigger as I kept reading. Bella’s imagination seems to have no limit – which is great, for I would’ve never thought to turn my brain to think that way, not in a million years. Sabrina was having some seriously rough play with the dolphins, in a scene that just about took my breath away. Monster erotica had a whole new meaning for me now. My “tail slit” was on fire. There is some crazy nipple torture thrown in, appropriately done with seaweed, and I found myself checking my own nipples to make sure there was enough circulation going to them. Turned out, both Sabrina and I had seriously needy nipples. Dishes be damned, I had to take a break.

(x-rated scene omitted from the review).

And I’m back.

Then Sabrina is captured by some devious scuba divers, who kidnap her and take her above water. After that, a crazy kinky doctor takes charge. I don’t want to re-tell the plot of the story any more than I already have, but the rest of it continues in the same vein of rough sex, submission, some more crazy-ass nipple torture, medical play, and … the most taboo … sleep sex. Holymotherfuckingmotherfuck.

This was the ultimate read in dubcon monster erotica. Trust. Note to self: next time I pick up one of Bella’s “fairy tales,” I need to do it when my partner is at home, not away on a business trip. There are some inevitable side effects to reading Bella, and those need to be quelled, like pronto.

She uses her sexual fantasies throughout the day to bring pleasure to her mind so that by the end of the day (or if she can slip in a nooner), she is in the perfect physical and mental state to have hot, passionate sex with her partner or if she is home alone, then she will have passionate sex with just herself. She believes that there are only two driving passions in one’s life: food and sex. Since she is not an inspired chef but really loves having sex, when it came time to decide what to write about, the choice of sex over food was an easy one. Bella wants to write about sex in a way that will appeal to both male and female readers so she writes very explicit sex stories with BDSM and forced/dubious consent, but not with the extreme level of violence that she finds uncomfortable to read in some erotic works. The legend of the Paka Watu…

Ever since she was a young girl, Abby Lane can’t resist the allure of a catshifter tribe forced to repress their beasts. On a trip to Africa, she discovers a coveted piece of information—the name the pride leader assumed when he left his home—and she traces his lineage to his descendent.

The sleeping lion…

Utah Pearce can’t keep his gaze off the woman who slips into the bar every night. Though not his usual type, she brings out the possessive instinct in him, making him battle with himself as he tries to stay away.

Abby’s research never prepared her for the reality in front of her. The beast is waking, and Utah is changing in ways both exciting and terrifying. He is possessive and dominant, and when he finally claims her, neither of them will ever be the same.

Abby Lane has an obsession, one that she’s had for most of her life. The legend of the Paka Watu, aka Cat People. She believed in this race of people so so much that she even went to Africa to research and search for them. What she found led her to Utah Pearce. Where Abby describes herself as bookish and plain, Utah is all things beautiful. He’s also unaware that he is a member of the Paka Watu. When he starts to really accept it, oh boy, hold onto your seats.

This was a good read for me except for one HUGE thing but I’ll get to that in a minute. Abby is a great heroine, she truly is. I loved her. Utah Pearce? Break me off a piece of that! Wow! He is truly an alpha male. If authors want to know how to write an alpha male, look no further than right here. Posessive, growly, strong, sexy and yes, a little bossy. Yum, mama likes! There’s a great deal of humor here also. OMG, when he kept having his friend pull the car over so he could drag Abby off for sex, hilarious.

Okay, now for my complaint. There similarities between this book and Lora Leigh’s Breed series were eerie. I felt like I’d already read this. It tainted the book for me. If you’ve never read Lora Leigh’s Breed series than this one is a sure fire winner!

But things aren’t always what they seem. Zeph says he isn’t like most… humans… and when Sam discovers who, and what, he really is, she’s forced to make a choice that will transform her existence. Forever.

Very unique twist on some classic paranormal ideas. What a fantastic read! I’m not really sure I will be able to explain this story well. So my short explanation is… just buy the book. You can never be disappointed with a Selena Kitt book. Great characters, story, humor and juicy sex that will captivate you with every page you read.

A slightly longer explanation… Sam is a fairy of fate for humans. Do you ever wonder why you make some of the decisions that you do? Well, that could be a fate fairy whispering in your ear. Fairies don’t experience the same kind of emotions or feelings as humans. Fairies are also invisible to most humans. When Sam encounters Zeph, she is intrigued and wants to know why he can see her. Sam is granted one Christmas wish from The Maker and that is to be a human for a day.

I loved the humor and the really interesting way Kitt describes someone who is discovering what it’s like to be human. Stepping into new skin and feeling things for the first time. Emotion, hunger, fear, lust and love. I especially love how hungry Sam is all the time.

Overall, this is a fantastic, fun and sexy read. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance.

Fierce immortal warrior. Host to the demon of Disease. Torin’s every touch causes sickness and death—and a worldwide plague. Carnal pleasure is utterly forbidden, and though he has always overcome temptation with an iron will, his control is about to shatter.

She is Keeley Cael. The Red Queen. When the powerful beauty with shocking vulnerabilities escapes from a centuries-long imprisonment, the desire that simmers between her and Torin is scorching. His touch could mean the end for her, but resisting her is the hardest battle he’s ever fought—and the only battle he fears he can’t win.

I love this series and to say I was eagerly anticipating Torin’s book would’ve been a huge understatement. He’s always been a bit of mystery and the Lord I felt the most sorry for. To be denied the sense of touch? What agony! For those of you that haven’t read the series, Torin can not have skin to skin contact with anyone without their death or if they’re lucky, they are then carriers of disease. That’s the demon he’s possessed with. So normally, he is the computer guru, kept away from battle, so no disease can be transmitted. His existence is a truly lonely one. He wants what his friends have, a loving and physical relationship with a woman. He has tried this a couple of times but the results always led to the other person’s death. In this book, he’s imprisoned with the Red Queen, who’s as vicious as she is beautiful. And unfortunately for Torin, she’s majorly pissed at him.

Keeley, the Red Queen, is a formidable foe to have. She was a child bride centuries ago, given to an evil King who terrorized and tortured her. She had little to no humanity left, except for her feelings of friendship with a human girl named Mari. She’s angry with Torin, the keeper of disease because he killed Mari with his inability to keep from touching her. She plans to extract her pound of flesh fromTorin, literally. The man she meets is nothing like she expected. He’s kind, caring and genuinely remorseful for his part in the girl’s death. After the two of them escape from the prison they were held in, they start an unlikely partnership which then turns into something more.

For loyal readers of Showalter’s, this book is a must because of the continuing story arc that this series has. For me this book was just barely okay. The first half of the book drug on and on and on. Tedious and monotonous. The scenes were the same, the dialogue, the same. She wasn’t good enough for him, he wasn’t good enough for her. Break up and make up. Over and over and over. Gah! I wanted to bang my head against the wall so many times. Both of the main characters seemed very immature and self pitying. The second half of the book had some of the characters from her previous books but even then, her trademark humor wasn’t up to par. I missed that so much. And William! There wasn’t enough of William! I deduct stars for there not being enough William. I gave it one star because it’s Showalter, one star because it was a Lords book and the final star because there was an HEA, even if I had to go through Hell to get it. In closing, please write books like you used to Gena Showalter. You’re better than what you’ve given us with the last two books. And again, more William!
