Unable to convince her husband they are ready to become parents, Erika decides to buy a puppy. She heads into rural Missouri on a day trip, following up on a lead in the classifieds, and gets more than she bargained for.

After the death of her mother, Bobbie Jean finds herself living with her aunt and uncle in the backwoods of Missouri.
But her relatives have a dark secret.
The family business.

Authors recommended reading order: FAMILY BUSINESS, LUCIFER’S CHILDREN, LUCIFER’S WHORE (just a side story, can be read before or after LIVE BAIT), FAMILY BUSINESS: LIVE BAIT.

Right off the bat I would like to give a warning to readers. If you’re looking for something safe, familiar or a happy ending, then this book probably isn’t for you. If you have triggers with extreme violence, torture, rape, animal neglect, dog fighting and one (not graphic but it was intentional) baby death, then you should approach with caution. You have been warned. On the flip side, if you have an open mind, a strong stomach and love a twisted tale that will immediately pull you in, give you hope and then crush your dreams, you should totally give this book a try. You will not regret it.

This is the first time I’ve read Bret Williams and most definitely not the last. When I found out he was a local author, I had to stalk him and his books to see what they were all about. I really enjoy reading books that are set in or around my area. Family Business didn’t specifically say where this was located, just in the “backwoods of Missouri” and that sounds like it could be the deepest and darkest part of the Ozark area, or at least that is what I imagined.

The story starts innocently enough, with Erika planning on surprising her husband, Stephen, with a new puppy. While driving to a breeder in the rural backwoods Missouri, Erika has some internal warning alarms going off but ignores them because she really wants a puppy. While trying to decide on just the right pup to bring home, Erika is met with a surprise herself and things take a very dark and disturbing turn.

Meet the hillbillies who are running the family business. We have Levi, business owner and father of Jake and Bub. Bobbie Jean, Levi’s niece, has lived with them since her mother passed away. Have you seen Deliverance? Or The Hills Have Eyes? Well, here you go.

Bobbie Jean

The only part that kind of got on my nerves was an early section with a ton of rape. Yes, it’s necessary for the story progression but let’s move on, I get it. For a minute, it really felt like the story wasn’t progressing but it eventually did. Another thing that shocked me (actually there was a ton of things that shocked me) was the ending and how abruptly it ended. It feels like a cliffhanger, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like it’s not really a cliffhanger. Are there questions I need answered, yes and hopefully I’ll get those answered in the other books.

Since I bought the audio version of this book, I need to comment on Joe Hempel’s performance. Wow! He has a smooth and hypnotizing voice. He does character voices effortlessly and I could easily distinguish who was talking by the accent he used. He seemed to really enjoy what he was reading.

Overall, this book is dark, twisted, brutal, uncompromising and disturbing. Family Business made me cringe, laugh and cry. Fantastic writing, world building and character development. I would recommend this book to horror fans, but please do read the warning and read at your own risk. I gave this 5 stars because the overall story and the audio narrator were so amazing. Bravo!

OH! P.s… Stephen… you are a motherfucker! I hope karma catches up to your ass. Bitch!

P.S.S. If you want to know what happens to the baby then read this part. This is a true spoiler alert. Do not read this if you don’t want to know what happens. (These women are being bread like dogs and there is one part where a newborn baby is shot. The baby is killed because he was born deformed and for revenge. The death is not detailed and it does not dwell on it, but it is in there.)

Oh… my…. goodness! This was an intense book! There are a bunch of parts that were so fucked up, I thought I was going to vomit. Actually, this entire book is fucked up. But in a good, sick, twisted, emotionally raw, scary and heart pounding way. It will for sure get your adrenaline pumping! This book will stay with me for a very long time.

“Only a monster would do something like that. I looked at him as he shocked her wound and knew I was right. Only a monster would do something like that. And his name was Ron.”

“I’d be sure I was prepared to reap before I started sowing, if I were you, Nicole.”

If you pick up this book, just know that there are potential triggers for people. Rape, torture, necrophilia, murder, plenty of mind fucks and there is a some pregnancy torture. I’ll tell you something… I learned some life lessons in this book.

I must also check out a book that is referenced… Annie’s Revenge. Also… this author is from the Ozarks. This is only 3 hours away from me. I actually go there every summer and my uncle has a cabin there.

After a weekend of sex and murder, Nathan has discovered he is not the only one with sinister secrets and addictions. He is faced with accepting another woman in his life that could possibly be the key to breaking him from his own selfish ways. It has been a fun weekend for him, but now he must escape the law and find a new place to hide. Will he be able to continue living the life of deadly dominance, or will he fall in the hands of the police?

Adrianna is Nathan’s number one fan and ultimate love interest. She may appear to have a conservative shell over all of her clothes, but underneath it all, she is just as sex driven as Nathan. After she murders her friend Mandy and discovers her own deadly demons, she realizes a life with her favorite author is all she wants even if it means facing his past with… Mrs. Red.

First a little warning as this book/series contains some possibly distressing material. It involves graphic rape, torture, cannibalism and copious amounts of blood and twisted fuckery. There might be things that may make you feel uncomfortable, turn you on or maybe even vomit. But none of that effects me so bring on the dark side!

Deadly Demons picks up right where Deadly Dominance left off. In this round we get to find out the aftermath of Nathan and Adrianna’s night of sexual deviation and chilling slaughter of Adrianna’s “friends”, Mandy and Bo.

Nathan and Adrianna get the hell out of Dodge and are now officially on a road trip to get far away from the scene that played out the night before. Both of them are constantly thinking about killing the other and wondering if the other will get them first.

I feel like part of this book could be a new game show called “Getting to Know Your Serial Killer”. A lot of this book really gets the back story on Nathan and Adrianna and really tells us how and why these two do the things they do. In my opinion, Adrianna is a sexual submissive with homicidal tendencies. I really think she was feeling kind of bad about killing her friends and its really starting to fuck with her head. Nathan is a power/control junkie who brags about his conquests through his books and someone from his past is about to catch up to him. AND I can’t wait to see how that turns out!

The sex is absolutely sickening and fantastic. FUCK! Adam and Alexia can really write a great sex scene. Here is a bit of one scene that is crazy hot!

“His lips find mine and his tongue slips in massaging me. When I become hungry for more, he rips my head back to show me he’s in control. As his grip loosens my hair, I feel him penetrate my tight core, lunging so deep all I feel is his heart beat inside of me.”

There is so much fantastic stuff in here that I don’t want to accidentally give anything away so I’ll make this last bit quick. We do get some new faces of evil in this one. Bethany and Mrs. Red. That’s it…. that’s all I can say about that. OH wait… that fucking ending? Holy shit! I did not see that coming!

This book is filled with blood, debauchery, murder, sexual wickedness and evil perversion. This is a very well written story, but does have some misspelled words or words that are spelled correctly but are the wrong words for the sentence. That is literally my only complaint. I can’t wait for you all to read it and I am SUPER EXCITED about the next book.

“The devil went down to Georgia alright, it’s just my soul he stole this time.”

Stood up by her boyfriend, she goes home with a woman…

Straight-laced coed Angie has never felt daring enough to…experiment. Until tonight. The skin around Heather’s lips is soft, unlike the stubble Erik lets grow in, and the night unfolds like an erotic dream, tapping into an unexplored part of Angie’s body and mind.

But Heather’s seduction turns into a nightmare when Angie wakes up tied to the bed and is told she can’t leave. Alternately seduced and tormented by her lover-turned-captor, Angie is pulled ever deeper into a twisted world of pain-for-pleasure and voyeuristic exploits. As the stakes rise, both women give into a desire for connections neither has had, and Angie’s struggle to escape becomes a bigger dilemma: Would she leave if she could?

Winner of the Golden Palm Contest for New Adult Romance, this erotic thriller dares to explore the darker side of our fantasies and their sometimes unintended consequences.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Holy shit that was an intense and crazy ride! I do love a good psychological thriller and this one did not disappoint. This is an exciting and very well written story and I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a book that makes your heart pump fast for many different reasons. This is an author you will want to keep on your radar.

The Need is a thrilling story about an insecure young woman who discovers things about herself that are brought to the surface in the most unexpected, unusual and sometimes terrifying way. This book will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting to read faster to find out what happens next. This is truly a prime example of a “page turner”.

Angie and Heather’s characters are very well developed and interesting. To me they felt like real people and I was right there with them on their crazy journey. Thank goodness I really wasn’t but I did feel what Angie felt. I felt her anticipation, love, fear, hate and confusion about what was happening to her. Heather helped these feelings along because she is a manipulator, deceiver and in my opinion a complete psychopath. However, at times I think Heather wanted the “normal” and she saw that in Angie. She wanted and yearned for someone to love her for who she is and all her faults. She wasn’t loved by her mother and her father left when she was young. So Heather has her own self esteem and trust issues.

“We are all victims of circumstance-until we make a conscious decision not to be.

This isn’t my first f/f book and most certainly not my last. The sex in this book is really good, terrifying, fascinating, complicated and very erotic. It’s very well done and given the circumstances of the story, nothing like I’ve read before. To me, each scene has a purpose in both Angie and Heather’s character development. There are a couple of scenes that make me wonder if Heather had set them up prior or if they really were unexpected. Example, the City Inspector and cop? Is she really that much of a mastermind manipulator?

“You don’t hate me. You chose to let me do that to you because it gave you something you needed.”

Some of the things I questioned or didn’t understand are; Angie is supposed to be super smart and highly educated. So it surprises me that she can even consider falling in love with someone who lied and tortured her. I get that you do what you need to survive but in my opinion that is an extreme case of Stockholm syndrome and that girl needs some therapy. I also know that years of low self esteem and believing your own truths has a tremendous effect on you.

There is also a part that confused me, but maybe I just read it wrong or something. Heather uses a phrase with the “city inspector” that calms him down and then Angie turns around and uses the exact phrase on Heather. Wouldn’t Heather recognize what Angie is doing? There is also a little bit of Heathers back story that I may have misunderstood. Again, it’s totally possible that I missed something. I thought that her mom got a new boyfriend? But then she ended up getting kicked out? Sorry people, I cannot elaborate on that question. Also, at the end of the book, what happened to the “other people” involved in the story? Was Stone Media set up like a snuff film or something? What happed to the company and all the videos? I can’t ask too many questions because I don’t want to give anything away. The ending did not go in the direction I expected which makes it much more interesting but left me with a lot of questions.

On a side note, I need to mention that every time I hear Iron Maiden… all I can think about is Bill and Ted. This really has nothing to do with the book, it’s just something that popped in my head almost every time I read it. 😀

My overall experience of The Need is a full 5 stars, but the ending and the few things I questioned make me take it down half a star. Although that ending was not what I expected or wanted, this is not my story to tell. This is Angie and Heathers story told through the eyes of S.L. Hannah and it really is an exciting story. I highly recommend trying this out for yourself.

Then, in a blinding flash of insight that lays bare the haunted alleyways of her soul, she realizes that things are not what they seem to be.

Will she find her way out of captivity or will she remain in the shackles of the old world order?

Mutha Fucka she did it again!! Loved this book 🙂

go on

Ok… disclaimer first… There is graphic rape in this book under the guise of blackmail. This book will push your hard limits. This is a violent story. It will get your heart pumping and have you screaming NOOOOO! You may even have the urge to jump into this book and kick some ass yourself. These are unfortunate but necessary events to tell this story. This is also a story about love, family and the lengths and limits we are pushed, to care for the ones we love. What would you do if you were in this situation? What situation? You’ll have to read the book to find out.

This will be a very difficult review because I don’t want to give any spoilers. So proceed with caution if I accidently spoil something for you.

If you’ve read the first book then you are already aware that Albert is the owner of a very successful construction company. His work can sometimes put him and other business associate in very dangerous situations when working in foreign countries. This is how the story starts.

I’ll admit I had a hard time in the beginning of this book. Rachel’s feelings towards Stefan and then meeting Stefan’s wife, Monique had me wanting to knock some sense into Rachel. I’m very much an open person and I would rather rip the band-aid off and expose the wound to start the healing process. Get everything out in the open. You can’t build or rebuild a relationship on lies and hidden truths. Monique doesn’t have a big part in this book at all, but she is significant and I feel really bad for her because she is left in the dark. Plus, Rachel is with Albert now. I know… I get it. There will always be a special place in your heart for past loves, but I think Rachel and Stefan take that to a different level. The note I typed in my kindle is NOOOOO! BAD PUSSY! DOWN GIRL! Now… on the flip side of that coin, I get what’s going on. I get that Rachel needed connection and maybe Stefan did as well, but he is still trying to rebuild his life.

“Real Love is unconditional.
Real Love is beyond borders.
Real Love is beyond names.
Real Love is Universal, all embracing, free.
Real Love is free flowing. Free flowing love.
Real Love is liberation.
Liberation from bondage.
Liberation from the prison of ideas.
Liberation from pain.
Liberation. Into the flow of Life. “

Why not 5 stars? Really the only reason why I gave this 4.5 stars is because of part 2 of this book. Part 2 is good and it’s interesting to read from Albert’s POV but I don’t want to reread the first book and that is exactly what it felt like to me. It’s interesting to find out why Albert did what he did in some situations in book #1 and I understand why part 2 is there and what it is trying to express. I think it’s there to let the reader know how much Albert really loves Rachel. How he came to the realization of his feelings and how committed and true he is to her. So I get it… but I didn’t really want to read about it. I am happy that Part 2 wasn’t that long.

The rest of the book is flawless. It’s hard to express how fucked up and awesome it is. I don’t trust any of the characters except Albert and Rachel’s mom. And I don’t know how Rachel or her family will ever be able to deal with or recover from this. The Buddhist monastery is an interesting piece of the story and I have some unanswered questions about all of that. Is Rachel going to tell Albert about what happened there?

Another question that has me scratching my head. Does Rachel have a magical pussy? I’m really starting to think that her Good Pussy Bad Pussy secretes a magical essence that makes people fall to their knees and become lust filled zombies that have to have a taste of the Rachel. So speaking of Rachel’s magical vagina, let’s talk about sex. The sex is good, graphic and frequent. Good Pussy Bad Pussy has an insatiable appetite and she is just as hungry in this one. However, as I mentioned before, there is rape and it makes my heart hurt when I read about it. I can’t really elaborate on this, so if you read this I’ll let you make up your own mind.

Overall, this book is amazing! In Captivity is enthralling, riveting, suspenseful and powerful. There are lots of hot and steamy sex scenes that will have your naughty bits tingling, confused and excited. The story is well written, inventive and captivating. The characters are well developed and the storyline is unique and heart gripping. The sex is really good and sometimes healing, but reader beware… there is graphic and detailed rape and blackmail. I still think the cost of the ebook is a little high for my liking, but this is a really good read and I highly recommend it.

‘Good pussy bad pussy. I knew something had awakened in me, something I’d never experienced before. A force, a power, a drive, an energy. Call it good pussy, call it bad pussy, call it whatever you will, but a life force had been awakened in me and I couldn’t put it (her) back to sleep again. Right or wrong, she was awake! She was alive! And she wanted more.’

Most married women only dream of having sex with other handsome, sexy men, but Rachel actually did. And it got her into all kinds of trouble.

In this fascinating tale of forbidden sex and guilty pleasures, readers can follow the beautiful and naive Rachel in her dangerous attempt to be free, follow her heart and satisfy her pussy – all at the same time!

From Amsterdam to the French Riviera to New York City… from her blond lover Stefan, to the aristocratic Albert, and mad doctor Howard, Rachel tastes the forbidden fruit – and likes it. That is until life takes a very surprising turn!

“Good Pussy Bad Pussy” is a very modern love story and an addictive, erotic page-turner.

First, I want to warn readers that there are uncomfortable situations in this book that involve rape and dubious consent. If this is a hard limit for you then I encourage you to stay away. However, if you’re curious, the author does a wonderful job at telling this story.

“The wise would say true liberation is only to be found in freedom from the bondage to our desires.”

This is a story about Rachel, her life, decisions she makes and her journey based on those decisions. Married to a boring and sometimes mean man, feeling trapped in her mundane life and yearning for the excitement that she knows is out there. A chance meeting with a man on the beach and a decision that will awaken something in her and change the course of her life.

make good choices

I have to mention the title of this book. I think its brilliant and I love it! This book was not what I expected, but in a good way. There were moments that I wanted to jump in the book and kick everyone’s ass and other moments that made me tear up. I wanted to shake Rachel and scream at her! WAKE UP GIRL! WTF are you doing? Stefan and Albert I want to throat punch them!

I hate men

I had a difficult time at the beginning of the book. I did not like Rachel or the men she was around but I did feel Rachel’s conflict with the entire situation. Stefan was kind, handsome and exactly what Rachel needed in the beginning. Albert is Stefan’s best friend and business associate. I wasn’t sure what kind of game Stefan or Albert were playing and it really gave me the creeps. When Rachel and Albert first got together… I felt that connection and it gave my stomach butterflies. It was simple and sexy.

“Was this the beginning of my liberation or enslavement? Oh where oh where had good pussy, bad pussy just taken me?”

Felix Fischer. Fucker!

“…motioned for me to remove his shoes. When I didn’t react immediately, he reached out and grabbed my arm, shoving me down to the floor.”

fuck off
hell to the no

Rachel is a very complex character and at times I’m pretty sure she has no gut instincts, no inner voice telling her ‘this is a bad idea’ or just telling people the truth! She has the worst luck and makes terrible decisions. FUCK! That is so infuriating. Plus, I swear Rachel’s pussy is made of magic because everyone wants a taste.

Oh Howard…. what can I say about Howard? Nothing! You’ll have to read it to find out.

a little angry

Oh there is a part in this book that I just about shit myself! I stopped reading… looked around and there was nobody there to share the experience I just had. It was the OH FUCK moment and shit is about to go down. I was helpless and all I could do was just read more and faster. When a certain someone shows up in Amsterdam and what follows that…

Then, just when you think it’s over and you can breathe…

oh no shock

And then I was like….

oh no

And then that mother fucker… and… and… and… OMG!

I’ve left a lot unsaid because I don’t want to give any spoilers. Actually, I’ve probably already said too much. Overall, I loved this book and I can’t wait to read more! For me this was one of those books I stayed up all night to finish and I haven’t had one of those in a very long time. Besides the beginning being a little off to me, all I have to say to someone who is thinking about buying this book… just stick with it. You will not be disappointed. There is a ton of sex in here, but there was only one butterfly moment for me. The rest… I’m not sure how to categorize it. Some hot, some uncomfortable and some not hot at all. You’ll have to find out for yourself. Although I think the price of the book is a little much, it is a really good read and I highly recommend it.

This author will take you on a wicked journey with Rachel’s tale. The mind and body are curious things and sometimes they betray each other. Not everyone’s reactions will be the same in every situation. What makes us come to some of the decisions that we make? Are you so sure that you would do the exact opposite? You will never know until you are actually in that kind of situation. Bravo A. Aimee!

Saxon Gray has reason to hate me. He spent five years in prison after saving me from a brutal violation at the hands of a rival motorcycle club – and he paid for that rescue with his freedom. I’ve never been able to settle the debt I owe him…until now. The menace of that old rivalry is flaring up again, and as president of the Hellfire Riders, Saxon is the one man who can keep me safe. But I want more than his protection. I want his heart.

Ten years ago, Jenny was in the wrong place at the wrong time and something bad happened. Actually, a few bad things happened. She was sexually assaulted, a man was killed and another man went to prison. Jenny has grown since the incident, got her college degree and opened her own business. She’s successful but not totally comfortable with her life. She has men issues, naturally. She freezes up when they try to touch her. She also lives with the guilt that the man who defended her went to prison.

Jenny is the daughter of an MC President. The club is slowly losing strength and her father is terminally ill. She also lives with the threat of retaliation from the MC that the man who assaulted her and died was a member of. One night as she was driving home, she was followed by that MC and she turned into the Hellfire Riders MC clubhouse area. Even though she’s friends with a member’s sister, she’s still the daughter of another MC’s President. There are rules to this sort of thing and showing up uninvited is not well received.

Jenny sees Saxon, the man who saved her and as always, she feels things she know she shouldn’t. Saxon is moody, broody, dangerous and all she’s ever wanted. Saxon approaches her for the first time in years, asking her if she’s here because she talked to her dad. Confused, Jenny asks about what. This starts a wonderful story about getting everything you want even when you thought it wasn’t possible.

This is a novella in a series of novellas that deal with the goings on of the Hellfire Riders MC. Even though it’s a novella, there were times it read like a full length novel. It was everything an MC romance should be. Good main characters, hints of good secondary characters, hot sex and dark suspense. A solid addition to the genre which makes this reviewer very happy because there are only a few that do it right. I’ve gotta get her backlist and devour it.

She caught my attention the first day I was seated in her class.

Her dark red hair fell in waves down her back and her alabaster skin appeared to sparkle under the lights of the lecture hall

I’d admired her from a distance, never speaking or doing anything to draw attention to myself.

Each day that I spent watching her in this room, I noticed how her eyes would flick up to me. She was wary of me – frightened – and she had reason to be.

Allow me to introduce myself…

My name is Holland Strong and at 21 years old, I’m the youngest Master within a society of wealthy and influential men.

Claire Elliot is my psychology professor in college – that is, at least, until I make her my first courtesan.

She believes she knows everything about how the mind works…

…and I believe I can prove her wrong.

Holy FUCK! Lily is the Master! I am Her Master’s Reader… 5 beautifully broken down and rebuilt mindfuck stars!

Lily Warning

“I believe, and this is just my theory, that if a person is able to understand the mechanics of how Stockholm works, a person can take steps to prevent it from occurring within them if they find themselves in an abusive or captive situation.”

I’m not really sure how to write a review worthy of this book. I guess I’ll start off by telling you to read the warning. Then after reading it; you still want to travel down the rabbit hole, then by all means… drink that fucking Kool-Aid because you’re in for an amazing trip.

“She was weary of me, frightened, and she had reason to be. I’m a trained predator; a man who has been taught the fine art of trade.”

I have no idea where to start with this and I’m just typing right now because my mind is mush. Her Master’s Teacher is the second book in the Masters series. The first book is Her Masters Courtesan and that book also blew my mind. But if you think that these two books will be the same story with different characters; you are very, very wrong. This is a complex story that will keep you guessing until the very end. How does one break an unbreakable mind?

Holland is the youngest Master in training and he is under the careful yet sinister tutelage of Aiden, who we met in Her Master’s Courtesan. Holland is young, arrogant, strategic and has some seriously seductive good looks. Claire is Holland’s psychology professor who also happens to be a psychologist and he has his claws aimed in her direction.

“She would beg. She would cry. She would fight for her life. Eventually, and ultimately, she would be my next courtesan.”

Lily White is an author who stays true to her characters. The warnings are very valid and should be read before you pick her books up. When she says this is not a romance, she means this is not a romance. Its dark, twisted and there is even a moment of strange and unusual. You’ll cringe and cry and have WTF moments. If you have a hard time with rape, dubious consent and/or non-consensual, then you may want to stay away from this book. If you’re still interested then I implore you to pick up her books and give them a try. Her writing is like poetry. Every word has a purpose so pay close attention.

If you’ve read Her Masters Courtesan then you will absolutely love Her Masters Teacher. Lily’s books reach inside me and show me things I never thought I would see, read about or even happen. She is the Master at confusing my vagina. I’m running around the house screaming NO! YES! NOOO! YESSS! My mind is a ping pong match and I’m kept on the edge of my seat waiting to see which side of my mind I want to rest on.

I can’t really say anything else about this without giving things away. I’ll just end with this… Lily White, you are the Master.

Spoiler Quote –

“I am a Master. I manipulate every person, every situation and every thing. It is what I do… even Holland was not immune.”

I received a copy of this book via the author in exchange for an honest review.

Author Bio

Lily White is a dark writer who likes to dabble on the taboo side of eroticism. Most of the time she can be found wandering around aimlessly while her mind is stuck in some twisted power play between two characters in her head. You may recognize her in public by the confused expression, random mumbling, and occasional giggle while thinking up a scene. Lily’s favorite things in life are reading, thinking about reading, buying books for reading….and writing. Her other secret pleasure is meeting with her plot editor in public to discuss her books and watching the shocked expressions of the people around her that don’t realize she’s talking about a book. When Lily is not reading, writing, wandering or freaking out innocent bystanders, she’s sleeping.
